Why You Might Be Overthinking Your Branding (And Wasting Money Doing It)

Not every business needs a logo.

What they do need is to start.

The Branding Fluff Nobody Talks About

Here’s the deal: our industry has a tendency to over-deliver on things that look nice but don’t actually move the needle.
You’ve seen it —
→ Seven versions of a logo you’ll never use.
→ Patterns that never make it past the PDF delivery.
→ A 15-page brand guide you’ll open once, then forget the password to.

Don’t get me wrong — a great logo and full visual system can be game-changers. But if you’re just getting started or growing a personal brand online, you don’t need the full face beat.

The Blush + Earrings Theory (aka What You Do Need)

When I’m going out, I don’t need a full face of makeup to feel put together.
I need blush.
Earrings.
Maybe a cap if my hair's wild.

It’s the same with branding.

→ You need the pieces that help you feel confident showing up.
→ You need visual consistency — not visual perfection.
→ You need your vibe to show up before your logo does.

Because honestly? No one cares about your logo if your message doesn’t land.

What Actually Builds Trust Online

You know what I remember about my favorite online creators?
Not their logos.

I remember their tone of voice. Their 2 p.m. Diet Coke break. The way they show up on Stories, even when their house is messy and they’re eating “girl dinner” over the sink.

I remember the feeling of their brand. Not the font file.

And that’s the shift —
We’re not building corporate brands.
We’re building personal ones.
